5 Upcoming Movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video in October 2020

October 2020 seems to be bringing the best shows and movies on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and the other streaming platforms, as far as Indian content goes. From Mirzapur Season 2 to numerous Indian movies, the content on OTT is such that you’d always have something to binge watch. While this week has already given us gems like Serious Men and Nishabdham, here are 5 other new Indian movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video that you shouldn’t skip out on. They range from a Bollywood romcom and a horror film to a Tamil anthology and a Malayalam family entertainer.

1. GINNY WEDS SUNNY – NETFLIX

With Vikrant Massey’s character shot dead in the last season of Mirzapur, we sure are going to miss him in the upcoming second season. However, his absence on the crime thriller is made up by watching him feature in various movies on Netflix like Cargo, Dolly, Kitty and Woh Chamakte Sitaare and now in Ginny Weds Sunny. This one is sure to give you some major Indian Matchmaking vibes as well. Sunny, played by Massey, is a young man eager to get married. However, his dreams are crushed by constant rejections from women. He then decides to approach his former crush and resorts to taking help from a professional matchmaker i.e. his mother. It also features Yami Gautam, Ayesha Raza Mishra and Isha Talwar.

2. KAALI KHUHI – NETFLIX

Back in 2002, Shabana Azmi gave all kids nightmares as the witch from Makdee who drank the blood of little kids as soup. She’s returning to the horror genre just in time for Halloween along with Satyadeep Mishra, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Riva Arora in a new original that joins the movies on Netflix later this month. It tells the story of a 10-year-old girl called who must save her family’s village in Punjab from the restless ghosts of its horrific past.

3. HALAL LOVE STORY – AMAZON PRIME VIDEO

After Sufiyum Sujatayum and CU Soon, another Malayalam film joins the list of movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video that skipped a theatrical release for a direct-to-digital premiere. Directed by Zakariya Mohammed, the light-hearted family entertainer features Indrajith Sukumaran, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Joju George, among others. It tells the story of a group of passionate filmmakers who come together to create a movie that follows religious guidelines in every phase of the filmmaking and it results in hilarious chaos and confusion.

This crime-action thriller is another South Indian gem joining the Indian movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video to look forward to in October 2020. Featuring Raj B. Shetty and Virginia Rodrigues in the lead, this film has a mother-daughter duo living an idyllic life, until one of them becomes a wanted criminal.
